About This Quote

A broken heart can’t really kill you. However, in my opinion, one of the most negative feelings in the world is the feeling of brokenness. People can survive heart-attacks or even cancer, but when someone’s heart breaks they feel that they are dead. The good news is that there is no such thing as “brokenness.” It’s impossible to break something that didn’t exist to begin with. When we feel like we are broken it means that we are looking at the world through our own eyes. Often, people will say things like “I am broken” when they mean “I am sad.” However, I believe that life can be full of joy and happiness without any sadness or pain.
